Breena Cocco graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Dance Studies and a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Florida. Her movement language is idiosyncratic, athletic, and sharp - built on modern and contemporary dance techniques.
Cocco had her NYC choreographic debut at the Young Choreographer's Festival at Symphony Space in June 2017. Cocco's works have been presented at the NewGrounds Festival (Tampa), Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Detroit Dance City Festival, WAXworks (NYC), Fertile Ground (NYC), Richmond Dance Festival, Southeast ACDA Conference, and the Harn Museum of Art.
Cocco has studied under Tzveta Kassabova, Pat Graney, Nita Little, and Ric Rose. She has had the pleasure of being cast in works by Pat Graney, George Staib, Doug Gillespie, and Daniel Morimoto. Cocco performs with her NYC-based company, Cocco & Co, as well as with Digital Movement Dance.
Cocco teaches Modern 1 and Modern 2 to middle and high school dancers and master classes/workshops in modern and choreographic composition to high school and collegiate level dancers.
